More questions about me – guaranteed to cure insomnia

Hey, I’m good! I am up to 3 entries in 3 weeks. At least using Friday 5, it’s easy to figure out about what to write.

1. What is the field nearest your home like?

Hm. The field nearest my home. Is it bad that I can’t answer that? I really don’t know what fields are near my home. Does the park down Alexander count? If so, I know it’s there, but I can’t really tell you what it’s like. I’ve never been there.

2. How did you get into the professional field you’re in? If you’re not working, what field are you most likely to find yourself in some day?

This is an interesting question about now. My readership (both of them) already know the answer to this question. I have gone through a few professional lives, now. The funny thing is, from when I was pretty young, I wanted to do the next one I’m preparing to start, but I didn’t want to do it. When I left high school, I went to cooking school. That didn’t last long. Long hours over a hot stove for little money and never getting to see my friends didn’t really lead to happiness. I decided to go back to school; I had decided to be a teacher. Funny, but that is kinda still my fallback if I fail at the next quest in life. I have little intention of going back to the computer field. Anyway, I basically ran out of money, so I turned to something I had done for years for fun, and I moved into computers. I started in the hardware side of the business, and did that for several years. At that company, I moved from the sales side into the product management and marketing side. That prepared me well for when the company went under, so I just went into consulting, and I enjoyed that for a while. Well, no, I really didn’t enjoy it, but it paid the bills and life went on for a while. After that, I moved over to the software side of the computer world and took a full time job for a software company that an old school friend of my brother’s had started, and it remained a fun ride. So, anyway, that’s how I got where I am. Now, I’m moving on. My last day at work is December 15. I leave Florida December 19. Then, the ride begins. If I make it through formation, God-willing, I will be a priest.

3. What’s the most interesting sight within your current field of vision?

Sitting in my living room, there’s not too much interesting to see. The living room is a mess, but that’s about it.

4. Where were you the last time you fielded questions from several people in turn?

Last time I fielded questions from people in turn. Hm. I’ll make this answer short since it is most uninteresting. Last time would be one of the demos/training sessions I did for work.

5. How are you feeling right now?

Fine, thanks.
